My home is situated in Sherwood a district in the City of Nottingham. I live in a good area of the city. I have a nice quiet home which is comfortable and welcoming. My home is just a 10-minute bus ride from the city centre.
I am an experienced host and have made many friends with the students who have stayed with me who tell me that they have been very happy with their stay.
Description as a Host
I am very relaxed, kind and caring as a person with a good sense of humour. I enjoy meeting new people and learning from them about other cultures. I have had many Italians students stay with me and find some similarities in Italian culture with mine. Although born in London my parents were from Ireland therefore, my cultural background is in the main Irish with a mix of Britishness. I like to cook good nutritious food and enjoy the company of my guests in conversation. I am a qualified English teacher of many years so understand the language needs of students. I would feel unhappy if any student staying with me did not feel safe, secure and comfortable with me or not have their needs met. I am a qualified teacher and got qualifications for teaching dislexic students. I used to be an assessor too.

I live in a three bedroom detached house in a quiet and very good area in the city of Nottingham with a garden. I have bed two guest rooms available. One is a single bedroom and the other is a large double room with a double bed and single bed.

Wifi is available. The washing machine is available or if the student prefers I'm happy to wash clothes. I also have a tumble dryer. There is a garden to relax.

The evening meal is at 7 pm. Curfew is 10 pm. If students want to use cooking facilities they must ask me as I will need to instruct how to use facilities for health and safety reasons.

Included in the price, to speak about work or anything you like, to make sure the host engages professionally specifying what time to start the sessions, to make sure the students don't run out or off to their rooms.
These lessons may be done in the morning or afternoon, suggested times are 9.30 am to 10.30 am , half hour break, and again 11.00 am to 12.00 am from Monday to Friday.

These small group sessions shared by up to 4 students may be done in the morning or afternoon, suggested times are two sessions from 9.00 am to 10.30 am, break, and again 11.00 am to 12.30 am for a total of 20 lessons a week.

First day activity together
Included in the price the Host will do something with the Student Guest. There are no restrictions not to have the Host do the same things week after week. Typical activities are: day out with the family, visit to town, shopping, cooking..
Every afternoon and weekend day we will go visiting and doing activities together. The cost will be shared among our Student Guests. If you work part-time, we can arrange according to your work schedule, if you are going to have classes with us, we will have these in the morning, and do these activities in the afternoons.

Full board accommodation, with packed lunch (like sandwich, fruit and water) is included. Here are listed the types of diet we eat at home and that we would provide without extra charges. In general we eat traditional but also international food, breakfast is light and dinner our main meal. Your packed lunch will include one or two sandwiches, please let me know over the phone what you would like.
